When are Newborn Photos Taken?
So, you are about to have a baby and want to know when newborn photos are taken? Woohoo! I am here to help!
Typically, newborn photos are done 7-14 days after the baby is born. There are several reasons for this: the baby’s stomach gets a little bigger so they can hold more milk; newborns sleep a lot during this time; less likelihood of baby acne; and mom needs time to heal if she had a c-section.
However, newborn photos can still be taken after the baby is 14 days old. My favorite next age is when the baby is about 3-4 months and they are capable of lying on their stomach and hold their head up. These photos still make for amazing newborn or baby photos.
